25 laps later, the pool water is still so subtle and gentle. However, i realise that something did not change for the past 17 years. Aquaphobia, no kidding!

things happened aeons ago, okay, 17 years ago, if im not mistaken. i was so small back then. we used to have a pool in the house compound. i was a 'water boy', i'd eat my meals in the bath tub and pool. Whenever it's hot, i'll end up in the pool. But, BUT, i didn't know how to swim back then. i would not submerge myself under the water.

So, one day, during lunch time, i jumped into the pool. Nobody was beside me. i did not know that someone added more water into the pool. The water level was over my head. i had a hard time... not to swim or get myself out of the pool. I had a HARD time to shout for help. they thought that i was fooling, but i wasn't. if they're a minute late, i'd probably had drowned.

when i was 12, they sent me to learn how to swim. i tried to persuade myself to stay calm whenever i'm in the deep area. you wouldn't know how hard was the anxious me struggling.

17 years later, i thought i had conquered the fear. but, there's still a little bit of aquaphobia in me.

Here's a list of practises that can help you beat and ward off stress
1) Plan to plan
- Planning is key to success. Plan by day,week,month and year. Check your daily schedule every morning. Preview your week on sunday nights. Furthermore, preview the next month on the last few days of a month. Moreover, prioritise tasks using A-B-C theory. As need to be done. Bs ought to be, Cs can wait [facebook]

2) Use the buddy system
- Ask a buddy to pull you aside when you're raising your voice. This can make you aware of the behaviour you are trying to avoid.

3) Call time-outs
- When you feel anger/frustration, go to a quiet place to regain your composure, cool yourself down. Think what do you want to change and your options again.

4) Develop healthy arrogance
- Nurture your self belief by reviewing your past success, the times when you overcame obstacles

5) Delegate ruthlessly
- Relinquish tasks other can do, focus on what you can do.

6) Prioritise you
- Make sure sleep and exercise are your biggest priority. Stop working after reasonable hours.

7) Respect the unexpected
- It's important that you are able to recognise your mind/body signs of distress, such as muscle tension, rapid pulse, sweaty palms or irritability. Identify the causes if they strike.

do you really know what i hate to do the most?
household is still okay, dish washing is okay, cooking is not that bad, baby sitting is acceptable. hey! i take care of my niece sometimes, although she's a naughty niece, comparable to dennis the menace. do you know what she would do?

last time i slept in the same room with her (when i stay overnight @ bro's house). and when morning comes, she will just wake up and stare at you at an extremely close distance, almost gave me a heart attack when i opened my eyes.. shushh... last sat i stayed overnight there again and there she was, doing the same old thing at 9.07am. -____-

naughty as she can be, she can be cute too. kiut? wait. whenever i sit on the couch, she would just climb behind and hug me ... and she wants me to be her 2-x-50cents-machine you often see in shopping mall.. her own human recreation machine. at the same time, she would just open up her mouth and stick to your shirt. well, there wont be lipstick stains, but saliva stains. when she's satisfied, she'd just hop off and laugh. zzz. maybe this is what i got from calling her 'dua bui bo' (in hokkien).

i thought of something that she did last saturday. my lappie has built in microphones, left and right arrays. i tempted her to speak something.. then she got excited, and kept on shouting 'papa' toward the laptop. Hahahahahaha..

i was flooded with information lately. and, i must admit that i slacked during working hours. but the time i've wasted paid off.
i have had chit chat sessions with my technical team lead, dennise and a system admin, kok wai.
after the conversations, i come to know that i need to put in more effort to improve myself. i know so little compared to them. Field experience really helps if you're working in an IT environment.

honestly, i'm .... kind of lost right now. lost as in i dont know which path i should take. i can be a network engineer, system administrator, database admin, web developer or multimedia developer. i may choose to be on the consulting side too. me myself, as a system analyst or consultant maybe? Are you confused? I AM!

even if i choose to be a developer, there are still many branches left.
Java? PHP? Oracle? or .NET? even if i have chosen the language, i still need to choose the platform. Mobile or Enterprise?
on the other hand, a consultant's work is not easy too. i've heard that fresh grads who are required to work from 9am to 11pm. talk about recreation, huh?!
besides, you have to do a lot of talking (filifala, filifala.. filili falala) . If you fail to persuade your customers, kantoi la kau!

okay, developer and consultant aside. System administration. this time you'll be dealing with the terms like virtualisation, servers, setups, system monitoring, routing, troubleshooting and security. It might seem easy, but hell, it's not.

audio, video, image, data indexing, clustering, Flash, Actionscript, it should be fun. (if the job is not fun, you wont even pay 100% into it)
Besides, i drafted a plan for myself. After i graduated next year, i wont search for a full time job. Instead, i will find a part-time job and sit for qualification exams. Hopefully, those qualifications increase my value, then i can sell myself at a higher price. wuahahaha!

working on tuesday is less stressful i'd say. i dont know why but everything seems relaxed from tuesday onwards. monday to friday, intense to relax. or perhaps, my stomach is feeling weird today that i went to the toilet countless times eventually. Haha!

Awesome! there will be no monday's blue tomorrow and i wont be dosing off in the office. heeee~

The party mood carried from friday's night party is not fading yet. I still have the urge to dance and shake. speaking of that party, it was heck a lot of fun. it has been so long that i met 'baga jo'. and uhh.. my nickname PM has became 'Personal Maid' thanks to jo. i participated in the singing competition organised by them. it was so embarassing. -____-
i guess Sam had a wonderful time too. she was very very very happy. you could see it from her eyes.

and uhh.. i finally met Anjoe, my supervisor after 5 months. :X . me and ck updated her with all the design diagrams. furthermore, we had a chit chat session after the meeting. she even offered us her homemade cookies! it was good.

this has been a fantastic weekend for me. A busy one too. It all started on Friday. Me and Catherine agreed to meet up in 1 Utama to celebrate my birthday. Besides, it was a after-work dinner at BBQ plaza. i must admit that sometimes i can be a "sua ba gao". i do not know everything want alright. and the thing i dont know is where is the location of that BBQ plaza in 1U. okay, stop laughing. i'm very grateful for what meow has done. She's the 1st person to ask me out, 1st person to treat me for birthday and the 1st person to give me a gift. And of course, a gentleman like me (wuahaha) will certainly treat her back. It was haagen dazs. Other than the meal, a greeting card and a cup with bear imprints. i'd have to say, with all those pig and bear drawings, she really has that deep impression that i'm mr.PigBear already. The first thank you goes to you, meow, Thank you!

The second thank you goes to Auntie Ann and her family & friends. Thank you Auntie Ann for remembering my birthday. You even remind eric about my birthday. Shame on you eric! ahaha! just joking! i was treated to a great dinner. Cooked-to-Perfection Beef, aromatic Mr Ho's sausages, spicy KimChi hotpot, crunchy fried chicken, red wine, white wine and champagne. Most importantly, it is the captivating birthday cake Eric and Sam got from Alexis. Thank you so much for the cake! it was a delicious cake and dessert for me!

The third thank you goes to my gaming clan. It was my idea that we go to Genting to get some cold breeze and visit the casino on the eve of my birthday. However, i had a different mood yesterday. i had this feeling to shake my body and pet pet. Thus, when we arrived at genting, we went to safari instead. after some whisky, i went to the dance floor with mr.Shawn and started to shake, shake and shake.

man, it does feel good with the music and girls dancing around (Whoops!) =P
A big thank you to Mr.Mun too, because of him winning 700 bucks at the blackjack table. the whisky was his treat. aha!

These 2 words are quite powerful words. If you think they are the same, you are wrong. Both of them are distinct. You see:
Can = Questions my ability
Will = Questions my willingness to give

lets say. when you want to propose to your beloved, would you say "can you marry me ?" or "will you marry me?" .. haha, of course the latter ya

to be honest, we guys tend to take these 2 words seriously. Furthermore, these 2 words have ripple effects. If we are feeling offended, we tend to hurt you back ladies, which is very bad :( . so please understand us, sometimes we guys do not want to do a certain thing because of the way people ask.

So, please, please do not use that "CAN" word so often. We tend to feel that you are questioning our abilities to perform. Especially when you are asking for help in our area of expertise! This is because of the can word, we tend to pretend that we are weak at everything when we could just settle the problem in seconds. Even hokkien has it, "Tia liao pun bo song". Men are always different from women. What we want is trust from you ladies. So, trust us with what we do please.

And, use the "WILL" word. It provides us a satiated feeling that you are really in need of us. Furthermore, when you use the will word, we are more willing to help you. In addition, we could even moved our asses before you open your mouth =)

It's not that i am writing this to play the blame game. But girls have to get this kind of treatment back too, so
GUYS, when you talk to a girl, remember, more WILL, less CAN!

This was supposed to be a creative art. Somehow, it did give me another perception that everything happens for a reason.

For a logical person, whenever he sees this picture, i'd bet that he would replace the square with the red volatile circle. That's the thinking of a perfectionist. he tends to make everything seems perfect & flawless. i admit that i was once like this. i could not accept anomalies. because it is just not right. And, i tend to repair and amend them.

and now, im not the person who i was. Besides, which fella on earth can be pure and void of flaws?

i've started to accept things and how they happened. Sometimes a simple thing would make us wonder for long or even worse, unable to accept. Still remember the first time you fell down and what you derived from it was a deep scar? Still remember when you and your partner were going strong in a relationship and a sudden apocalyptic argument sparked? Still remember when you cut yourself carelessly?

Just accept things the way they are. Because all the things that happened colored our lives and they made our lives beautiful =)

few days ago, my mobile phone SMS inbox is near to its limit, so i just roughly delete some of the stored SMSes. I thought i never need the Digi insurance anymore, i discarded the message. slowly, things are coming to haunt me. Was that a lucky charm for me? i dont know.

on my way to Wangsa maju for weekly gamers meeting, i saw a few road accidents. 3 if i'm not mistaken. glasses and components are shattered on the floor. and, i never thought that this would happen to me 7 hours later. i still remember foongie did invite me for a yum cha session, which i was so regretted to go to Wangsa Maju. i wanted to see her for so looong.

i was @ tbun Wangsa Maju from 10 to 3. Then, i drive sis's car back to damansara perdana. I still remember vividly how i created a new playlist and burn it into a disc, so i can listen to it while im driving to and fro. to my amazement, there werent a lot of cars on the road this early morning.

stroke's songs gave me the mood to reach home earlier. i didnt speed either, i know the car's limit. and i come up to the bridge which is still under construction near KPMG tower. light was green, music was going strong, speed was okay, the car was moving towards the right direction. Out of nowhere, there's this WJH 5115 kia spectra came from SS2 direction which leaves me no time to respond. Even hitting the brake hard couldnt help either, i bumped onto her car. The driver was a 3X malay lady who gave me the reason she did not know which traffic light she supposed to refer to.

i'm grateful that there was this malay couple who was following behind my car helped me. They clearly supported me saying that it was our turn, not that reckless driver. This is my first time dealing with car accident, certainly i would not know what to do, besides, i was so shocked. it was them who helped me, they told me everything i need to do. Thank you, the couple of BKA 121, perodua Viva.

Thinking back, i did not know how i could be so calm and not angry @ that moment.

Furthermore, i couldnt contact my sister or bro in law. i tried and i tried, to no avail. the towman told me to come back home and wait til they wake up, and i did just that. from 4.40 to 7, i never relax myself. i was lying on the bed watching the ceiling, didnt know how i should feel anymore. i lost my direction @ that moment, knowing that i've caused so much troubles and problems to my family. ive been trying to make them less worry about me, i did the exact opposite this morning.

i blame myself, i blame my luck, i blame that idiotic reckless useless brainless scum. i wouldnt be this upset if it's my car and not sis's. i really dont like to break others' items, especially expensive ones. i'm guilt-ridden. argh! a depressed person like me currently needs some anti-depressant, desserts.

i should be grateful that nothing major had happened to me. else, you wont be seeing this now. i know i have a strong spirit to continue living, i know i should not leave my beloveds before they leave me, this will be so unfair. but after all of this, do i still know til when i will keep on breathing? i do not know anymore. Human lives are so weak.

The voice of Lady GaGa faded in and echo-ed in the air. This is undeniably a great alarm to wake me up every morning, first thing i'd do would be turn it off and lie back down for another minute or two. Then, Dragging myself to the bathroom, out of the bathroom, into the kitchen, out of the kitchen, to the dining room, had my dinner, changed to formal wear, apply some facial care, use some perfume and off i go to work.

the thing is my work starts @ 9 and i often reach office @ 8.10am. you must be wondering why would i not leave the house @ 8.40am. Cant Do That! this is due to that i must follow sis out or else i have to think of a way to get to the office. that wont be nice, isnt it.

if you have 50 minutes to spare, what would you do? previously, i'd start my work asap. then i realize, why stress myself so much? 1 should start slow in the early morning. Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Strokes albums are great morning albums, they give me the mood to kick start my work. What's best is playing pinball while listening to the albums. The drums are just like the sound effects meant for that metallic ball. just great!

and yeaahh.. things are little different today. I never took out my X-FI player, i never played pinball. i read, instead.
embarked on a journey to Mars and Venus. Surely, you know what book i am reading right now aite.

and i'm so grateful that i was reading it alone in the office today. I laughed out so loud that people will think that im crazy. Wait, i'm crazy afterall. The first chapter is interesting already! Honest, Straight and Direct. The first it discussed about is Men and Women conversation needs.

you see, the book uses examples. The examples really resemble real life situations. and i do think the examples are real too.
First lesson. what women want in a conversation is not solutions, but a pair of ears. Just some caring words, gestures and a pair of ears are sufficient. A hug is inevitable too. but, what most men would do is make suggestions and solutions to solve a particular problem. Men are born as repairman. They tend to repair things, to be successful, to be a pro. But, women dont really need that, and now i gotta agree with this, hands up, legs up. Whatever you (guys) do, just support her, hold her up! or .. hug her tightly would do i guess, they just want you to listen, that's it.

and what men want is not solution, but you, women, to keep quiet. Women that give suggestions and solutions thought that they can help their beloved to further improve, to be a better man. However, their actions would hurt their men more. It damages the self-esteem and confidence of a man. Men would think that they are useless and unable to bring happiness you all want. trust me, we do really feel this way. So, the next time, when your bf/husband got lost on their way to a certain place, just keep quiet. when they are about to screw up, let them be. trust them girls!

so what you waiting there, if you have a girlfriend, go hug her tightly now!

well.. i missed angels and demons last week, im not gonna miss it this week. And, since sis is going for her routine facial in new york skin at the curve, i've decided that i should tag along for a movie b4 dinner. honestly, i never opt for cineleisure as i had 1 unpleasant experience there. but the movie experienec totally had changed my thoughts. perhaps it's because of the movie? well, the queue for buying tickets are still bloody long as usual. you will need a 20minutes queue time before you can actually get your tickets. how awful.

luckily, im watching it alone. else, it will be hard to get seats. i knew i stand no chance for terminator because this is the 1st weekend and there have been so many terminator advertisements. not forgetting, our Dark Knight is John Connor too. Angels and Demons is pretty fine for me anyway, since i like how Da Vinci code is presented. and, wow.. (nonono..)...

The sauces are okay. but i really dislike the "cold shrimp" compared to tempura shrimp and another 2 flavours. well, the portion is not that big. but the environment is great, especially with all those leng luis around.. Muahahahah!

Lastly, because today's 30th, sis said that she wants to eat ice cream, ended up with me paying for a 30% discounted New Zealand Natural regular tub. Hey, this is my 1st time eating it, normally i'd go to haagen dazs. got ourselves the chocolate ecstasy, darn... i really like it! it is as delicious, aromatic, smooth as my belgian chocolate. yum yum!

well well, finished my semester exam yesterday. was a boring day after that. i thought that there'll be at least a celebration outing -_________- .. siensation hebat kut.

a new computer, desktop or laptop, i dont really care, but preferably laptop. ahaha. As a developer, personally think that i need a more powerful laptop to run all the development kits. a Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 fits perfectly. Wakaka
a new phone, PDA for management and scheduling. Frankly, i am not impressed with the iPhone, it's just an overhyped device. i'd opt for a HTC or Moto A3100. affordable too.

Money to shop. i've been wanted to change my wardrobe, not entirely of course. i just want to add a few more shirts, a few pair of jeans, some accessories, shoes and parfum. muahahahaha! :D

made my reservation for a hair cut this afternoon, and i deliberately told nicole that i want eunice to wash my hair.
hmm .. Eunice is a pretty girl. But the main point here is, her massage is awesome, definitely enjoy the massage whenever i go for my haircut.
Nicole is my hair stylist for 2 years, yeahh, 2 years. Between me and her, we can talk and share about many things, food, clothes, hobby and etc. and i just promised to give her a voucher to jogoya!

the very first moment i opened up my eyes this morning, i knew that something was not right. well, you can actually do alot with 5 bucks. What i derived from this 5 bucks is a whole lot of experience, 1 4Gb thumbdrive, 1 2Gb thumbdrive and a qualification to join CCNA national level competition (netriders competition), hee!

the 1 on the right was for the individual theory test whereas the 1 on the left is for team equipment practical setup challenge

the prize (3) in the bluebox, a 4 Gb thumbdrive for each of the team members. btw, i already have the blue color version, now im getting the violet version!

and, guess what?! it's another thumbdrive, however, this 1 is sold to my room8 for 15 bucks.. wahahaha!

here's the story:

it was yesterday that this competition was held at my college, just for CCNA networking students. hm, yah~

the rules are quite simple, 2 phases: 1 is theory phase and another is practical phase. Of course, if one wants to go to practical aka 2nd phase, they must get a high score for the theory test.

in addition, there was a embarassing moment in the conference room when 1 of the lecturers, ms Chok was giving us a briefing. She said that last year TARC were 1st runner-up in the national level competition, so this year, she wants that champion trophy to be brought back to TARC. and at that time, she pointed at me and said, "horrr, yeong hui!" .. how embarassing! ><

so, we had our theory test @ the CIT center for an hour starting from 9.30am. after that, the computer calculated the score of each participant and the sum of each team. want to know how much i got? i got 9 wrong out of 50, 82 marks for me! and fyi, there's another student, a friend of mine, obtained 82 as well, we were tied for the no1 spot. Such a coincidence! With that 82 marks, i got myself a 2 Gb thumbdrive. hee! then, before they announce the qualified teams, a lunch buffet was prepared for us! and honestly, the food prepared is more than what we could eat. besides, the thumbdrive and the lunch are already worth more than 5 bucks, isn't it!

after lunch, my team was assigned to 1 of the CCNA network laboratories for the setup challenge. The challenge was about subnetting a network(VLSM), dynamic routing protocol (OSPF) and inter-vlan routing. these are all the things that we have learnt before. but 1 thing we never go through is emergency recovery. and that happened to me yesterday! arghh, sorry CK-san and vincent-san, i admit that it was a honest mistake. i configured the wrong authentication password on the switch. That caused me to be unable to login into the switch interface(the IOS). luckily the invilgilator was quite lenient, she gave me tips to bypass that configuration file. hee. but im sure that this kind of thing wont be happening anytime soon!

back to the challenge, we were one of the 2 teams that could finish the challenge. The rest weren't able to make their network operable. furthermore, i thought that my team is going to be penalized! and it did, i guess, my lecturer told me, our total mark and the mark of another team is separated by a small gap. How pityful! ><
thus, the result showed that we were 1st runner-up, sighs!

and that's it, after the prize presentation, it was about 4.30pm, i was very exhausted at that time. Right now, my team and other teams need to prepare ourselves for the netriders competition, but we need to study CCNA exploration 3 and 4 ourselves , oh dear~

1 interesting is that Vidic scored the 1st goal 4 minutes after kick-off whereas Ronaldo scored 4 minutes when the second half resumes.

Well, today i have some free time, thus, i asked for sis's help to schedule a facial session for me.. ahaha.. the session was at 4.30pm, somehow, i reached there late. reached sis's company @ amcorp mall around 4.15pm, then i had to drive to hartamas shopping centre. besides that, i had to refer to the map drew by sis, muahaha, not so familiar with roads in PJ what.
so ... as usual, my session is ultra long, dry skin, lots of blackhead, excruciating pain session, but i'm gonna skip this, it's not the main thing.

After facial session, me, sis and bro-in-law had our dinner at Rakuzen, muahaha!

Well, what they serve? Japanese food !

First up, unagi don ordered by bro-in-law. Hey, this could be the best unagi don i ever had. the eel didnt have that unpleasant flavour, it was just nice!

Second Up, Sushis. [Sis deliberately put their chopstick cover in front of the plate] ahaha ..
i just ordered salmon and omelette only. Yummy Yummy! the sushis were in bite size, so you can put the whole sushi into your mouth. Although the salmon slice is thinner than the sashimi salmon, it was great!

Darn! i always take the pictures after i started eating them. This was supposed to be 5 assorted sashimi: Salmon, Tuna, Squid, Octopus and Amberjack. The sashimi slices brought me to heaven. They were generous to give us sashimi slices which are about 1-1.5cm thick, FOR REAL! Yum Yum!

Are you wondering why there is only 1 skew left. This is because we already ate 1 of them. ahaha .. Then i only realized that i want to take picture. The chicken was well marinated, barbequed to perfectness and juicy.. 1 of the best i've eaten!

lastly, sis told my aunt in the phone conversation that i ate too much until she wants to declare bankrupt..the total bill was just RM119 -__________-

The flaw in the system

i've been really discontented for the last few days is all because of bias.

okay, thing's like this. All computer science/IT students must go for their 6 months industrial training after current semester. Forms were filled, resume was submitted. i've selected some of the companies that i'm interested in, eg. HSBC, Accenture, Swisslog and Silverlake. Of course, the pays vary with RM1387, RM1000, RM1000 and RM 600 respectively.

Last December i was assigned for an interview with Swisslog. i was kinda disappointed that i never managed to land the job, but ck-san and another 3 Information system engineering students got the job offer. NEVERMIND!
Then i was hoping that they(the lecturers) could assign me to HSBC or Accenture. Few days later, Accenture was removed from the industrial training list. Reason unknown. NEVERMIND!
i cleared my minds, set my sights on getting a job at HSBC.
To my amazement, few days later, i was informed that they have arranged an interview for me with Silverlake, the banking software giant in Malaysia [ they provide the systems for 2 of 3 Singapore's banks, UOB bank, OCBC Bank ].
after a stress-free interview, they have offered me the job offer. Of course, i accepted it with haste. As Hokkien always say, "Get the prawns when fishes are unavailable"
In addition, i realized something, they were never going to assign me to HSBC. This is due to that the interviewee shortlist for HSBC appeared 1 day after i received the notification to go to Silverlake. DARN!

Now, you must be wondering why i say that it is a flaw. 1 simple reason, Requirements.
HSBC, Accenture and Swisslog require students that have achieved more than 3.0 CGPA. i'm not being proud here, but i certainly have the credentials to go to one of these companies. 3.924 CGPA for diploma and 3.75 CGPA for advance diploma. im still wondering why am i not being assigned to HSBC. Instead, they assigned 1 of the girls in my course to go for the interview, and she didnt get the job offer.

GERAM SIAL! RM 1387 and RM 600 have quite a huge gap in between.

Bias created all of these. The lecturer who is responsible for all these assignments taught the whole Information System Engineering course. Thus, she knows all of her students very well. and, of course, if you're a lecturer who know your students well, you will certainly send the best ones to all the top companies. Human are indeed selfish.

We had embarassed ourselves in front of our supervisor, anjoe-san that day by indicating that we are to implement a Human Resource Multimedia Information System. A lot of technical questions were heading towards us, leaving both of us hungry for words and answers.
Why? We never had a thorough research. Now you know why.
the most obvious question that i still remember which is "the query to retrieve multimedia is different from the usual 1 right? how about the multmedia data model?" ... darn... kena pawned 9 9 6.

Thus, after that day, i borrowed "Multimedia Database" from the library. whoa! how lucky i was to be able to borrow a book like this from an outdated library. In case you dont know, the latest framework to develop an windows application is .Net 3.5, however, the books available in the library are only limited to .Net 1.1 and .Net 2.0. *yawns.

i've gone through 6 chapters now, discovering terms i have never heard of : Ontology, latent semantic indexing, (agglomerative, divisive, polythetic, monothetic, hard, fuzzy, deterministic and stochastic) clustering, Euclidean distance, Mahalanobis distance, Principal Component Analysis..........
